2010 -the year of trying new things

Dear Viewers:

Hope everyone had a nice holiday.  Ours was special. My brother, his wife and their  four daughters came up from Florida. We all had a great time.

I’m normally not big on New Year’s resolutions.  I don’t like making promises I can’t keep.  But this year I decided to make a fun resolution (much more likely to keep that kind) I’ve decided 2010 will be the year I try different experiences – eating new foods, going to new places, just branching out.  I’m already off to a good start. I went to a bull riding competition.  It was interesting.  Don’t know if I’d go again, but it was fun.   We also took the kids duck pin bowling. I’ve lived in Baltimore for 12 years now and have never been. It was a blast and definitely something we’ll do again as a family soon.

I’ve never been to Las Vegas - so my husband is taking me there for my 40th birthday.  I never had any interest to go before because I don’t like to gamble.  But there are so many other things to there – I’m excited to check it out.

So from now on the next time an opportunity comes my way – even if  I think it’s not “my thing”,  I’m going to try it anyway.  You only live once!

Happy New Year!

  1. Mindy,You will love Las Vegas. My brother and I went years ago and had a blast. Even if you don’t gamble you have so much to see and do. Be prepared to do alot of walking. It is also very hot during the day. Have fun

  2. Hey Mindy,
Bring your good walking shoes. The casino’s look close but are pretty spread out. We did the Las Vegas strip death march last year and walked what seemed like miles and miles. Enjoy your trip.

  3. Mindy,
That is the best I have heard to date.

You will like Vegas….the sights alone are worth the trip!!

I have to say… I seen your adventure in the kitchen with the kids for Christmas….BEAUTIFUL and WELL MANNERED children you have!!

Have fun with all you new adventures in 2010!!

    Tina

  4. Thanks for the advice on comfortable shoes in Las Vegas – I will heed your advice and leave the stilettos at home (not that I really have any).

Tina – I appreciate the compliment about my kids :)

  5. “You only live once”…and if you do it right once is enough!

  6. so true Ron!

  7. Mindy,
I got married in Vegas almost 6 years ago and I so want to go back. It was a whirlwind trip and we didn’t get to spend time looking around but there is so much more to see than just the casinos.
I have a question for you–where in the world did you get your purple sweater with the Ravens’ logo on it?? My office is into the Purple Friday craze and I would love to have a sweater like that. I can’t find one anywhere.
Thank you! Have a great day!
