Dear Viewers:
I just got back from my trip to Vegas and I am still recovering! We had a blast. It’s one of those places you just have to experience to understand.
We stayed at the Bellagio…HUGE, beautifully ornate, the service top-notch. The room was a suite – just gorgeous with a breathtaking view of the mountains.
I absolutely loved the shows (“Blue Man Group” one night, “O” the next), the spa, and the restaurants. I did not, however, love gambling. I lost 50 bucks in a matter of 10 minutes and that was it for me. I did enjoy watching others play. My hubby was into Black Jack – was up a couple hundred at one point, but ended up breaking even, which was certainly better than losing!
The only downer was that I got pretty airsick on the way out, and the way back…in fact I still feel like I’m moving. But I’m sure it will go away after a few days.
And of course we were so excited to get home to the kiddies. Missed them terribly. Overall, it was a great trip – I’m so glad we went!
Tell me your Vegas stories (if you can – this is a family blog!)

Glad to hear you had a blast! We go to Vegas every summer and enroll our son in a Mad Science camp for the week. In the evenings we bowl or catch a magician/show. There is a great hands on science museum for kids we visit on the weekend or one of the other museums/exhibits/activities. We have plenty of family time as well as some true Vegas gambling fun. Start planning your next visit now!
Mindy – next time you go on a plane, take Dramamine. It helps tremendously. I’m glad to hear you had a good time & you are back safe!
Hey Jessica, thanks for the post! I did consider taking dramamine, but the last time I took it, it made me sleepy for two days and I didn’t want to be tired in Vegas, or when I came back to work to do the morning show. But I think next time I fly I will take it – better to be tired for two days then nauseous for two days!
Also try ginger. You can supplements or the real thing (candied ginger you can suck on/chew) or ginger slices if you don’t mind the tang of it and of course ginger tea. it does help nausea and it’s natural with no side effects.
Mindy-if you still feel like you are on the airplane-and it hasn’t gone away–you may want to seek the advise from a doctor. Not to scare you-but I had the same reaction following a trip. I just could not get my “sea legs” back. It became worse after a drive in the car. As time progressed it became more and more evident that something was wrong. It is common in women–and it is a variant of a migraine. Go figure. Hope it goes away on its own!
For the most part the nausea has gone away – but every once in a while it comes back for a brief spell, especially when I ride as a passenger in the car. I am prone to migraines. Maybe I should call my doc.
